SMS has been selected as a Resource Center in the state by IIT Bombay. The objective of the resource center is as follows:
1. IT education for all Indians. This program is run by Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD), Government of India.
2. Center is formed under the name of National Resource Center for free open source software (NRC-FOSS).
This covers the following courses for the spoken tutorial website (www. spoken-tuturial.org):
1. LINUX
2. Java
3. SCILAB
4. Open office
5. C etc.
Courses are run in different language like English, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Marathi etc, .
There is a provision that resource center can add its own developed programsresources and can be uploaded on site. This resource center is basically developed with mission to educate every Indian through information technology.
