This ghat was the site of a battle between Chet Singh and Warren Hastings of Britain. Chet Singh was defeated in the war in 1781. Later in the 19th century, Prabhu Narayan Singh regained the place. There are three temples in this area and it is quite famous for the seven-day festival of Buddha Mangal Utsav.
